Hey! So, let me start by prefacing; I love clothing. I think trying to plan out the most complicated yet appealing outfit incorporates so much thought and skill.
Ever since I was younger, I have experimented with different clothing styles. Anything from country chic to hard rock punk. The fact that my mom allowed me to dress myself when I was younger added confidence to my ability to find something cute to wear. Which is why I think my style has improved since then.
My favorite type of clothing trend right now is more on the business side. I love a striped blazer and slack with a pump or sometimes even a sneaker. Whatever makes someone feel confident and comfortable.
Looking back, I laugh at my crazy hair and outfit choices, but I am also proud of myself for the creativity I let flow. There is a specific outfit that I will forever remember as iconic: a lime green skirt, purple sparkly shirt with a peace sign on it, knee-high, blue sparkly cheetah Converse sneakers, hand gloves, and my hair in a side ponytail. It really was a sight for sore eyes.
Overall, I think it is extremely important for others to have creative freedom with the clothing they wear and not feel pressured to fit a certain image. The amazing thing about fashion trends is that they are just trends. They will forever change and mold into something new. So, trying to keep up your style with every single trend is not possible.
My advice is to experiment a little with different styles, and then once you find one you like and feel good in, keep it and shape it to fit more of your personality. Add in accessories, new hairstyles, and other things.
